We have taken our first six week winter trip to pick up with the sun and it was enough of a success that the trip will be repeated. The nearest thing to a downside was that we had one week of rain – yes, while you lot were up to your windscreens in snow, slush and all things unpleasantly weathery. We decided that this period would have been more enjoyable, having read and re-read the £4.00 Daily Mail (Spanish edition and sold by a wind-up merchant) if we were able to see what you were suffering back home. Time to negotiate a TV set plus its necessary accompaniments – aerial, stand etc – for the Clubman.
We contacted several companies that advertise in the press, but never felt truly comfortable: we wanted advice before taking the plunge and then wanted someone to fit said kit to our Clubman. At last we found a series of recommendations on motorhomefacts.com for Snellyvision.
A call to Shane Snell was enough to persuade Lucinda and me that here was someone who could be trusted to advise and would fit the setup per his advice... and would not turn his back on us as his customers when he had taken our money.
I arrived home yesterday evening from my trip to Rothwell in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds and to Snellyvision. I stayed in a beautiful area, with an excellent pub meal in the Blacksmith’s Arms in the village. I was entirely happy with the job done by Shane and his fitter/friend, John. They claim – and I believe them – that they will give ongoing support and asked me to call for any advice needed when setting up or any time I have a problem in the future. You would have to go a long way to meet two nicer guys.
Snellyvision sells by mail order or they will fit your unit at Rothwell. They will visit the client if required. However there is a spot where a client can camp overnight, with all the basic services. This is available because they are setting up a Camping and Caravan Club CS behind the workshop – and yes, it is much better than it sounds.
For further details check out www.snellyvision.co.uk and enjoy the experience.
