Devon washroom sink

The washroom sink in my 2008 Devon developed a problem. The inside of the sink became "rough" as similar to rough sandpaper.  Probably a reaction to some chemical.  The thought of a replacement was necessary and a trip to a dealer for fitting until a neighbour, who carries out motor vehicle spraying on minor blemishes, said he might help. He polished the blemishes out then primed the sink and sprayed a couple of coats of acrylic bumper paint in the unit. Hey presto, one sink as good as new and completely matching the rest of the unit. Cost £50.   Have polished it with 3 coats of wax polish and it is perfect after regular use.
