David,
What do think of the ride difference since fitting the Air Assist?

Re: NEC 2016 Burford and Duo.
Hi Liam,
They give me a much smoother ride and a little extra height fore getting on ferries (not that I have done that yet but will be next year). Also the Burford always looks a bit tail heavy and that is now sorted. Overall really good value for the money.
Cheers

Thanks David, we'll make some enquiries. ChrissieDavid.S wrote:Hi Chrissie,
I had the levelers (and air assist suspension) fitted by Glide Rite in Liphook but there are other fitting sites. The fitting
takes a couple of days and the install for both systems was very neat. The prices are on the website. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. I also use the lifters at home for extra security, nobody can steal a motorhome when the wheels don't touch the ground.
cheers David.

How much weight do the levelers and air ride add? All of the levelling systems I've looked at take all the payload.

Hi Peter,
I have added 80 kilos so have to be a little careful, I am going to a local weighbridge next week so will plan any Shane's after that visit.
Cheers

David,
You could consider removing the corner steadies - if you have not already done so - as this would help restore some of you lost User Payload.

They are in a box in my garage. The whole system can be transferred to any future motorhome I may purchase. Then the original stays will be refitted.

Regarding the 60% overhang calculation.
My Burford has a tow-bar fitted and when VOSA measured the vehicle length it was bang on the 60%.
The length quoted by AS is the overall length of the vehicle but it bumper area isn't at the extreme, the rear curves under so my 50mm tow-ball is far enough away from the bodywork to allow me to hitch the trailer and within the limits.
Can I also add that in the three years we have owned the vehicle we have only every kissed the back end once and this was on the tow-bar which hangs down a long way below the rear panel.
Yes we are careful but provided you remember it's a big vehicle then it's not a problem.
It's the best van we have owned and we love it.

Hi Willy,
I had semi automatic air assist fitted by Glide Rite. Specs and prices are on their website. They did a lovely job and fitted the control unit in the most convenient place for me to adjust on the move if required.
Cheers
