Newbie in nottingham Empty Newbie in nottingham

Post by jimbo07g41 Thu Oct 16, 2014 9:01 pm

Hi there,

Looking to get a autosleeper very soon.  Currently looking at t4 vw topaz, trophy.  Want 4 berths, so thinking about buying a 2 berth model and then putting a bed in the roof. this is due to there not being many 4 berths about.

Any hints from anyone who has done this appreciated.

Thanks Jamie

Anything to look out for Daisy? Would a topaz cruise on the motorway OK?

The Topaz is great on the motor ways, does depend on the engine I had the 2.5tdi and very economical, I got high 30`s mpg  to low 40`s mpg so recommend that one. the loo area is one of the best in a conversion imho. easy to park, I only changed as I wanted one larger.

Just check out for damp from the top windows, mine was on the n/s and had the window out and resealed no more problems after that, was told the problem was because the windows  sloped . I had a C rail put on in the middle of the gutter strip, fits in nicely  there, used the same screw holes as the gutter, that way didn`t need to drill into the van, then can thread a canopy through or a drive away awning giving you more room. Will need a Kador and figure of eight strips to release the awning for when you leave the site.

Good luck with your search, exciting times ahead.
Regards,
Margaret
